Grading Boycott

The Teacher's and AT's are so particular about how their homework assignments are graded so why don't we do this instead because there are many of us who wont even grade homework anymore because we end up losing more even if we are just slightly off...

I petition that the way grading is completed to be changed and I am sure many of us would like to see it changed.

Teachers and/or the AT's who work on that subject will be the ones who give the final grade according to the way the think the lessons should be done. Students can still grade homework to get house points and galleons but the way they grade would determine how many points and galleons they would get.

Example #1:
>>>>>>>>>>Teacher/AT gives the final grade of Outstanding on an assignment, the student gets 10HP and 10G on the assignment.
>>>>>>Student A gave the peer review grade as an Outstanding, they get 5HP and 5G.
>>>>>>Student B gave the peer review grade of an Exceeds Expectations, they get 4HP and 4G.
>>>>>>Student C gave the peer review grade of an Good, they get 3HP and 3G.
>>>>>>Student D gave the peer review grade of an Acceptable, they get 2HP and 2G.

Example #2:

>>>>>>>>>>Teacher/AT gives the final grade of Exceeds Expectations on an assignment, the student gets 8HP and 8G on the assignment.

>>>>>>Student A gave the peer review grade as an Outstanding, they get 4HP and 4G

>>>>>>Student B gave the peer review grade of Poor, they get 2HP and 2G.

>>>>>>Student C gave the peer review grade of Dreadful, they get 1HP and 1G.

>>>>>>Student D gave the peer review grade of Troll, they get 0HP and 0G.

What this means is depending on how the student and the teacher/at graded would determine if the student gets...

>>>5HP and 5G
>>>4HP and 4G
>>>3HP and 3G
>>>2HP and 2G
>>>1HP and 1G
>>>0HP and 0G

It would be run on a scale on how close the students peer review grade would be to the teacher/at's final grade. And the only time a peer review grade of Troll would get anything above a 0HP and 0G would be when the teacher grades a Dreadful or Troll as the Troll is a grade that shouldn't be given lightly.

Example of Scale:

-5 = 0

-4 = 1

-3 = 2

-2 = 3

-1 = 4

0 = 5 (Same grade as the Teacher or AT's final grade)

-1 = 4

-2 = 3

-3 = 2

-4 = 1

-5 = 0

This system would give even more work to the ATs and Teachers, as they'd have to grade each and every homework submitted in their subject. Moreover if you have a doubt about which grade to give, you can always contact them ;)

Also, I don't think the grading rules are very hard, just count the requirements and downgrade 1 for each requirement missed, unless there are other rules in the lesson.

I also believe it would be unfair for someone who gave a "P" to a "Good" homework to still get 3 galleons + HP. 2 grades difference is a big gap, and unless you explained very well why you downgraded, I find it normal that it's punished ^^

do you have any idea how much work it is to be a teacher?? or how much work it is to be an AT sometimes? and how much users there are on the site?? if those 1/2/3 people did that for all the hundreds if not thousands of active players they would get mad (and before you ask, yes, i am an AT and i was a teacher so i know what i am speaking of) further more, just because YOU think it should be changed doesnt mean that others do, this is the first suggestion i have seen so i dont understand " and i am sure many of us would like to see it changed" if you dont like the grading system, dont grade! that is how simple this works
